Smart Africa vision is to achieve a single African digital market by 2030. E-governance refers to the use of ICT to deliver government services to citizens, businesses, organizations and within government agencies. Single digital market components include a connected market, a single data market and a single online market.
The latter (single online market) in Africa will be characterized by online services/e-services that flow seamlessly between the different actors and players in the 54 countries. The digital transformation of government service interactions with citizens, businesses and organizations through online public services is a key component of a single online market. Examples include, online tax payments, digital IDs, e-signatures, online business registration systems, etc. A second key aspect of an African online market is seamless cross border e-services through interoperability of both public and private e-services.
