Kigali, Thursday 27th October 2022 – On the side-lines of MWC Africa, the Smart Africa Alliance is now counting Bantoo as a new start-up member. Bantoo recently joined the alliance to advance the technological developments on the continent.
Africa has the highest entrepreneurship rate in the world. In combination with the rapid technical advancements on the continent, new opportunities arise both for the large growing population but also for the continent as a whole. Africa’s digital future is also key to creating jobs, reducing poverty, inequality, and to foster inclusion for economic growth.
In addition, ICTs, especially start-ups, can be a considerable lever of action for African States, as they can create wealth and jobs, but also improve the efficiency and transparency of the administration, as well as access to basic social services.
In line with this, Smart Africa and Bantoo will join forces towards the development of new digital solutions for communication, money transactions and new employment opportunities on the African continent.
“Technology is democratizing business opportunities and young entrepreneurs are innovating in exciting ways. We are extremely pleased to join the Smart Africa alliance and contribute to the digital transformation of the continent”, says Georges Betoka, founder of Bantoo.
“Empowering the start-up ecosystem to accelerate digital transformation of the continent is one of the key missions of Smart Africa. Therefore, welcoming Bantoo to the alliance is clearly aligned with our ambitions. Their booming and forward-thinking approach will be a great asset to our organization” stated Mr. Lacina Koné, CEO/Director General, Smart Africa Secretariat.
Bantoo offers a range of free digital services that facilitates users to start monetising on their talents to empower individuals to build prosperity.
